Bob also hosts The Afternoon Show with Hoffy on our sister stations Fox Sports 950 The Game in Sheboygan every weekday from 3pm to 5pm.
Bob came to KFIZ in 2000 when he began doing Saturday morning sportscasts and has seen his role grow into it’s current position today. Bob is a life long Fond du Lac resident, minus a few years away that ended with him graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
You may remember Bob as the starting quarterback for the 1979 conference championship Fond du Lac Goodrich football team or as a fixture with the Fond du Lac basketball program. Whether as an assistant coach, sitting in the front row of the bleachers, working a camp, or now broadcasting a game on KFIZ, Hoffy has been very involved with Cardinal hoops. If you want to talk travel, food,
history, or anything pop culture, Bob will be your guy.
News Director Bob Nelson has spent over 30 years in radio. He’s a native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He attended Northern Michigan University where he majored in Broadcasting and minored in Journalism. His first Radio Job was in his hometown of Manistique at WTIQ. Following that he took a job with a station in Munising Michigan. In 1987 he moved to Minocqua,Wisconsin where he worked for a Station for the next 3 years. After that he worked in Park Falls. In 1994 Bob was offered a job at WBEV and WXRO in Beaver Dam. He worked there for 8 years winning several News awards along the way from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. Looking for a new challenge he accepted an offer from KFIZ in June of 2002. Bob says he took the job, because he wanted the opportunity to work with one of the Country’s oldest and best Radio Stations.
Spencer Wagen is the host of the Breakfast Club weekdays from 6 until 9:30 am on News/Talk 1450 KFIZ You can also hear Spencer on KFIZ broadcasts of local high school sports. Spencer comes to KFIZ from WDUX in Waupaca, where he hosted afternoons on WDUX FM and covered local news and high school sports. Before that, Spencer began his broadcasting career in southwest Wisconsin at stations in Lancaster and Platteville. Spencer is a graduate of UW Oshkosh,
where he majored in Radio/TV/Film and minored in History.
