Joseph “Yoyo” Mayorca finished the night with a hat trick. He played outstanding attacking center mid. Kevin Medina, Hector Maldonado, Omar Centeno, and Deon Coffey also added a goal each. Francisco “Panchito” Garcia, Mariano Perez, Jose “Paco” Espinoza, and Esteban “Jirafa” Paramo each added an assist. Victor Munoz, Luis Esparza, Eddie Medina, and Esteban Paromo played a great game defensively. Andy Martinez and Eddie “Guero” Acosta had solid games at goalie. Like always Arthur “Pirlo” Garcia, Angel Portillo, and Omar Centeno had great games at center mid. Overall a well played game, solid defense, good possession, good passing, good communication, and good finishing.

This year Player of the Year goes to Joseph Mayorca and Victor Munoz. Joseph led the team in goals and was selected as team MVP. He was also voted by the VOL coaches as League MVP. He lead the team with 32 goals and was able to tally up 7 assists. Joseph makes everyone around him better. I would also like to give recognition to Victor Munoz our Co Player of the Year for his leadership and amazing defensive skills. Victor was a huge part of the 14 0 regular season and 3 0 post season success. Victor is a senior this year and was selected as ALL LEAGUE TEAM for the second consecutive year. He will be missed along with Seniors: Angel Portillo, Arthur Garcia, Hector Maldonado, and Luis Esparza. Championships are won by teams, and I would like to congratulate the entire team for working together as a team all year long and winning Weston Ranch High first ever Sections Championship in any sport.

Joseph Mayorca recorded his second consecutive hat trick. Great team win! After being down 1 0, and down one player due to an ejection, the Cougars responded with great team play and a solid performance putting together 5 unanswered goals to win by the final score of 5 1. Bryant Ortiz added a goal and assist. Esteban Paramo had an assist for the second consecutive game. Goal keeper Eduardo Acosta added a goal and an assist in limited minutes. Overall great game, good possession, communication, and finishing.

After an outstanding 2014 15 season Yoyo came back his senior year to deliver an even more impressive season. He led the Cougars in goals (42) and in assists (16). He finished his stellar varsity career with 96 goals and 30 assists. He holds the school record for career goals (96) most goals in a season (42), only Kevin Medina has more career assists (33) than Yoyo (30). His solid play in the playoffs helped the Cougars capture their historic second Section title. Along with his Senior classmates, Yoyo class leaves Weston Ranch as the most successful class (16 in the school history. The group was able to win the VOL their freshman year, runner ups in the Sac Joaquin DIV Section their sophomore year, Sac Joaquin DIV and DIII Section VOL Champions their junior and senior years. The group took Weston Ranch soccer to heights, and leave behind some big shoes and a legacy for future teams to live up to. Thank you for the memories, you will be missed!.
